when you see someone you haven't seen in a while and just from that first hello you know it's awkward.
well plenty of those moments have happened to me in the past month. it seems like every other day it happens. Today it was an old friends mom i saw. i use to be real good friends with her daughter, 'til i moved 12 hours away and we both stopped contacting each other.
i was standing there in wal-mart, staring at picture frames looking like such a fruit. when i turn my head slightly and i just knew who that person was walking right past me. i turn and feel obligated to say "hi" so as i do. she turns and does the cheesy fake "oh Hi!" then after that is the most awkward minute of my life. we both stand there, not knowing what to say or do. "Well I've gotta go". Nice talking to you......
awkward.
&& if it helped at all i go up to the cash register the lady scans my frames and tells me the price. i scramble around in my purse, "come on where are you, darn wallet." i think to myself. right then my face goes white. i look up and tell her i forgot my wallet in my car. she just stares at me, as if she hasn't heard this before from teenagers. ran all the way to my car which for some odd reason i decided to park father than usual. of course. run back and the lady again, just stares deep into my soul. "uhh sorry", i say as i feel total embarrassment. i pay for it and walk out as fast i can. i just wanted to get out of there, FAST!
then there's nothing like telling someone you'll do something with them, but realize once you get to their house. you don't feel so up to it anymore. well i had that happen to me and my best friend haley today. we drive 15 mins away just to go there. we park in the front of the house and just sit in her car. not knowing what to do because we both do not have any feeling to be there. "what should we do?" "DRIVE AWAY!!"
yes, we really did drive away. it's not really a big deal, right.
great day Huh?!

ReplyDeleteme and some friends drove away from a party as soon as we parked. i think it's totally acceptable
