Bravery

Courageous, as found in the dictionary might be defined as not deterred by danger or pain; brave. I have met a hand full of courageous people in my life. They have been defined as courageous in several different ways such as saving someone from harms way, surviving and illness, watching a loved one go through such illness, divorce, or simply having the courage to stand up when needed.

I recently heard about a movie which so happens to be called "Courageous" and had seen the previews for what seemed to be a tear jerker that I did not have any interest in watching. You see, this film is about four law enforcement officers who, after a tragic loss, find it imperative to becoming closer to not only God but to themselves and their families.Throughout the entire movie they showed such strength, courage, love, and devotion. But, I could not help but feel a sense of peace every time the mentioned serving the Lord. This was a common theme throughout this film. Which I'm sure was a very good reason as to why it was such a tear jerker.

As I had mentioned earlier, I didn't have interest in actually sitting down and watching this movie. Because of personal things, this hit home. But instead of feeling a sense of gloom and woe is me, I feel love and gratitude. I've had the chance to have several father figures in my life. Those who seem to pop into my life when most needed. I truly am grateful for every single one of them. I am also grateful for my Father in Heaven. Who knows me and loves me for who I am. I know he hears and answers my prayers. I feel his unconditional love daily. I am so very blessed to know that no matter what I will always have my Heavenly Father to turn to.

Courageous is definitely a must see movie. Go ahead, grab your tissues, popcorn, ice cream and pop that movie in. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
